Q. What is reverse glass painting?
A. Reverse glass painting is a technique in which the paint is applied to the underneath side of the glass. This special type of art form requires the artist to paint the design on one side of the glass while it will be viewed from the other.
Q. Does Harmony paint every sink or are there others who assist in the painting?
A. Harmony paints each and every sink and then hand-signs them to authenticate her work
Q. How is it shipped to prevent breakage?
A. Special care is taken to make certain the sink will arrive in perfect shape….the vessel sits inside a styrofoam well that was specifically designed to house it….it is then filled with packing materials to insure its further protection…each piece is then insured for its full value with the carrier..
Q. How long does it take to receive my sink once I’ve ordered it….
A . The normal production time is 4-6 weeks….however if it is needed sooner…we will try our best to accommodate the deadline….
Q. How would I order a custom design?
A. To create a custom design…you and Harmony will consult together by phone and/or email to work out all the details of the project ….you will be asked to send samples for example of the tile…fabric…wall color…etc. that will be used in the room so that there is no question of the look and feel that you desire….it is not reliable to use pictures on the net as each monitor can display the colors differently….
Q. How do I care for my glass vessel sink….
A. The tempered glass used in the sink is of the highest quality …the drainage hole has been laser guided to prevent any chance of leakage….since the painting is on the underneath side and totally protected….there is nothing that will damage the design….however do not use any abrasive cloth or cleaning material on the inside or outside of the sink….a wipe with a glass cleaner is all that is necessary to keep it clean and in beautiful shape….it is also important not to place a medicine cabinet above the sink and to be careful not to drop anything heavy into the vessel that might cause it to crack….with every sink there is included installation instructions and a simple maintenance free care guide
Q. If I want dual sinks for the master bath…will they look the same?
A. They will look very similar and will be created to complement each other…however please understand that each sink is a unique one of a kind work of art and because it is hand painted the two can never be exactly the same
Q. When ordering a style in the gallery will my sink look exactly like the picture…
A. As each piece is a unique work of art..when you select a style you will be having a sink created for you that will have the same basic look feel and colors as the picture…however no two will ever be exact….that is the beauty of having a unique one of a kind piece of art work
Q. How do I position the lighting to maximize the sink’s beauty?
A. With reverse glass painted artwork the light source should be placed directly on the piece as opposed to being lit from the sides or from underneath…in that way the beauty of the colors and the glass will be dramatically enhanced
Q. What about hardware for the sink?
A. You will want to find a single arm faucet for the vessel sink and make sure when choosing the look and finish that you also account for the height of the arm and where the water will fall into the vessel….there are different shapes and styles of hardware and many choices to choose from….the faucet can either be installed coming from the wall or attached to the countertop next to the vessel sink…depending on your preference….you will also need to select drainage hardware and make sure the one you choose fits correctly in the vessel’s drainage hole..
